LOT SETTLEMENT AND PICK-UP
Available immediately following session or weekdays
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM CT by appointment only.
*This session is presented via catalog and online. Bidding is taken by phone and through our website. There are two phases of bidding during this type of auction: 1)
Normal bidding
: Bids are taken up until 10 PM CT the night the auction closes. 2)
Extended Bidding
/ 30 Minute Ending: On a lot-by-lot basis, starting at 10:00 PM CT, any person who has bid on the lot previously may continue to bid on that lot until there are no more bids for 30 minutes. For example, if you bid on a lot during Normal Bidding, you could participate during Extended Bidding for that lot, but not on lots you did not bid on previously. If a bid was placed at 10:15, the new end time for that lot would become 10:45. If no other bids were placed before 10:45, the lot would close.
If you are the high bidder on a lot, changing your bid will not extend the
bidding during the 30 Minute Ending phase (only a bid from another bidder will extend bidding). If you are the only bidder at 10 PM, you will automatically win the lot at 10:30.Important: After normal bidding ends, you must be signed-on to the Heritage site to see the bidding option on lots where you qualify for extended bidding.

11/11/11. This nal Heritage Sports Collectibles Signature Auction of 2011 will conclude on that numerologist’s dream of a day. What does it mean? Anything? Ballplayers are notoriously superstitious, and six number ones would seem to be a positive omen, but our tremendous condence in this auction isn’t bolstered by lucky numbers. It’s pure reason that fuels our rosy outlook for this groundbreaking auction event.

Yet again, our consignment directors have scoured the country (and beyond) seeking the rare, the signicant and the valuable, and we’re pleased to present our largest and most star-studded Signature auction in Heritage history. A pair of fresh-to-the-hobby nds rises to the pinnacle of their respective subgenres. The earliest known Ty Cobb uniform, the road grey jersey and pants worn by the Georgia Peach while traveling with the 1922 Detroit Tigers, brings the known population of the former Hit King’s jerseys to four. And the son of a former manager in the Carolinas’ “Tri-State League” provides a baseball bearing a stunning NRMT autograph from the reclusive “Shoeless Joe” Jackson.

The locker room doors of yesteryear swing wide with a seemingly endless array of Hall of Fame annels: Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, Bob Feller, Chuck Klein, Duke Snider, Joe “Ducky” Medwick, Warren Spahn and Steve Carlton to name a few. Historic lumber derives from Gil Hodges’ glorious 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers World Series victory, and Mickey Mantle’s appearance in the 1959 All-Star Game. And we have a Boston Braves cap from the Final season in the game for Babe Ruth.
The happy coincidence of high-end golf consignments has made this event required viewing for any hobbyist with
a links concentration, as the trophy rooms of legends like Bobby Jones, Walter Hagen, Bobby Locke and Paul Runyan spill open with Championship medals and other artifacts from their seasons of dominance. Elite boxing consignments provide three centuries of pugilistic thrills, highlighted by Tom Sayers’ letter accepting the famous 1860 Heenan bout, and the Middleweight Championship belt won by Carl “Bobo” Olson.

Those voices decreeing the end of quality trading card nds will be rendered silent for another auction cycle, and the rst ever offering of the 1887 Kalamazoo Bats Ed Cushman card is likely to leave quite a large number of collectors speechless as well. A high-quality 1933 Goudey Baseball set also makes its hobby debut in the pages that follow. From tobacco to candy to bubble gum and everything in between, this auction should provide attractive targets for the smoker and the sweet tooth alike.

Of course, one need only feel the heft of this catalog in his hands to conclude that this letter barely scratches the surface of the riches contained within. Keep in mind as you devise your bidding strategy that we are happy to
accept consignments toward payment of auction invoices, and our consignment directors are always available to
discuss potential auction values. As always, I close with a word of gratitude to the consignors who have chosen Heritage, and to the bidders who will give their treasures a new home. Thank you for putting your trust in us, and for helping to make Heritage the World’s Largest Collectibles Auctioneer.
 Sincerely,
Chris Ivy
 Director of Sports Auctions
