Scope

The project will define Application Environment Profiles for realtime application utilizing the POSIX interfaces. At least three separate profiles are expected: one for full function, realtime systems, one for embedded control systems, and an intermediate realtime system definition.

Purpose

With the completion of balloting of P1003.4 system interfaces for realtime and other applications, it is critical to define a coherent grouping of the options to allow realtime users to specify target sets for acquisition.

Abstract

New IEEE Standard - Superseded.This standard is part of the POSIX series of standardized profiles for open systems. It defines environment profiles for portable realtime applications.
