Scope

This Application Guide provides information on what a basic faulted circuit indicator (FCI) is designed to do and describes methods for selecting FCIs. The application of FCIs to single-phase, 200 amp URD circuits is described.

Purpose

The purpose of this guide is to provide the first industry document providing application and use guidelines for faulted circuit indicators in the electric power industry.
